About
I am a resident of Parker County Texas. Married for 30 years; father of two daughters; grandfather to three grandkids.
Professionally, I am an Application Analyst Sr. Staff (Application Software Development). But of more interest, I am an active member of North Side Baptist Church of Weatherford Texas; a High School football official; amateur photographer; and an avid reader of histories – particularly Texana, Christian/Church history, ancient Greek, and Northwestern European history up to shortly after the conquest of England by William I and Doomsday. I am also a big fan of John Graves, a “regional author” who is famous for his collections of essays and short stories. I would describe his style as reflective and because he is writing about places and things and forgone times set in my region of Texas, I am thoroughly hooked and I recommend him often.
This blog is primarily a vehicle to share some of my photos and its name is taken from the abundance of oak trees on my small place. In addition to photos I will occasionally share thoughts on what I am reading if I consider it particularly interesting. Yes, I realize no one will care beyond a few family members. None the less, thanks or taking a few minutes to look around.

Love your blog… both the Bible thoughts and the wildlife pics. I’m here in Weartherford too. Maybe we can meet sometime. Brent
